Book One

The King's Feather

Pero Moshe’s mom vanished from their Oregon home, and the prophecy says it will happen to Pero, too. But when it does—and Pero is transported to an older universe, life gets more than a little nuts.

Throw in a bodyguard who is almost criminally cute, a corrupt and brilliant doctor who wants to steal Pero’s power and rule all of Moon City, and her mom showing up as a pawn in the whole thing. And all Pero wants is to grab her mom and go home.

But, uh, yeah, that’s not happening.

In the end, Pero is forced to choose between forgiveness or escaping with those she loves before a shout crumbles Moon City’s walls to pieces. And both choices come at a cost she’s not sure she’s willing to pay.

Perfect for readers who love:

  • Coming-of-age journeys
  • Parallel worlds
  • Family mysteries

Reader's Favorite Review

"The skill of a Christian author really shines through when they are able to convey a message through character action, emotion, and exceptionally well-implemented symbolism instead of outright telling us. Lately, I've only found the heavy-handed latter but Earls changed that streak, and I'm blissfully happy for it."

The King's Feather

Lauren H Brandenburg

"Amy Earls crafts tales that are epic and unexpected, carefully weaving both faith and fantasy into narratives that are sure to thrill teen readers!"

About Me

The Author Behind the Words

AmyEarlsprofile_w6114_607

Amy Earls

Award-winning author Amy Earls writes fiction that explores the intersections of faith, hope, and the beautiful mess of real life. With a master's degree in adult education, she is passionate about helping writers grow in skill and confidence.

Amy lives in Corvallis, Oregon with her very patient husband and two energetic daughters. She laughs often, believes Disneyland and Broadway should count as legitimate life necessities, and is unapologetically pro mayo. When she's not writing, teaching, advising college students, or directing writers' conferences, she's probably singing harmony to just about any kind of music, recording an audiobook, or laughing at her own jokes.

  • My Writing Process

My stories usually begin with a simple question: What if? From there, I outline, write, and revise until the story comes to life. I love creating adventures filled with memorable characters, unexpected twists, and themes of faith, courage, and hope. If readers finish one of my books feeling entertained, encouraged, and reminded of God's faithfulness, then I've accomplished what I set out to do.

    What Drives Me

I write because I love encouraging people. Whether through novels, meditations, or speaking, my desire is to create stories and messages that inspire hope, strengthen faith, and remind others that God is always at work—even when life feels uncertain.

    Fun Facts

    • I've climbed the Great Wall of China four times.
    • My favorite encounter with a wild animal was feeding a giraffe.
    • I was once invited to join a local improv team, back when I was funny.
    • I sing and dance while washing dishes.

    Answers to Your Questions

Here are responses to questions I frequently receive about my books, meditations, and writing courses.

Are your books suitable for teens?

My young adult novels are written primarily for readers ages 13 and up. However, Book 3, Meadow's Curse, is recommended for ages 15 and up because it explores more mature themes, including abstinence and marriage within the context of traditional Hebrew customs. While my stories tackle real-life challenges and difficult themes, they are free from explicit sexual content and excessive violence.

For more detailed information about the content of each book, please see the Parent Guides.

Do I need to read your books in order?

Yes. While each book tells a complete story and can be enjoyed on its own, some characters and story elements carry over from one novel to the next. For the richest reading experience, I recommend reading them in publication order, starting with The King's Feather.

    Are your meditations "Christian enough"?

My meditations are firmly rooted in Scripture and the hope of the Christian faith. Through biblical reflection, thoughtful storytelling, and honest conversations about everyday fears and anxieties, they invite you to encounter God's presence in the midst of life's uncertainties. Each meditation is designed to draw you deeper into His Word, strengthen your trust in His promises, and encourage a closer relationship with Christ.

I'm a beginning writer. Is your course right for me?

Absolutely! My writing course is designed for writers at all levels, with particular attention to those just starting their journey.

    Will you read my manuscript?

While I can't offer full manuscript reviews due to time constraints, I do provide feedback on short excerpts for students in my writing courses.

    Do you offer speaking engagements?

Yes! I speak at writing conferences, schools, and other events on a variety of topics, including creative writing, publishing, network marketing, and other subjects tailored to your audience. Contact me through the form below to inquire about availability and speaking topics.

    Still Have Questions?
